Who We Are

When John Duval and Jim Garvey recognized the need to separate long term care from the community pharmacy, they founded Apothecare upon a decade of friendship, a common set of ethics, and a customer-focused business philosophy. Their combined professional experience and solid commitment to the industry have pledged Apothecare to the highest standards.

John Duval, Owner

John Duval, R.Ph., graduated from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. During his professional career, he has been recognized as "The Pharmacist of the Year" by his peers at both the Massachusetts Independent Pharmacists Association and the Massachusetts Pharmacists Association. In addition, John serves as Chairman of the Whitman Board of Health, Chairman of the Northeast Pharmacy Services Corporation (300+ member pharmacists), Director of the Mutual Bank of Whitman, and member of the Brockton Hospital Foundation Board. As a proud founding member of Apothecare Pharmacies, John is motivated to help Apothecare become the standard for long term pharmacy care.

James Garvey, Owner

James Garvey, R.PH., graduated from Northeastern University College of Pharmacy. After graduation he served in the U.S. Army, James then settled on Cape Cod. He soon became store manager of West Gate Pharmacy in Hyannis, which he later purchased. As an adjunct West Game Home Medical was formed to supplement the supply and equipment needs of the community. In 2002 Apothecare of Cape Cod was formed in order to pursue the specialized needs for pharmaceutical care.
